Winter Time

 Hello again,

I hope this message finds you well. How's the weather treating you? Is it cold where you are, or are you still enjoying the warmth of the sun? As for me, I'm feeling quite chilly at the moment. I'm sitting at my desk, bundled up in two layers of clothes, including socks. The only thing I'm not doubling up on is my bra. Thankfully, I don't need to, since they're ample enough.😏

What do you typically do during your free time at this time of year? Luckily, I have a variety of hobbies to keep me busy.

My day starts at 7:15 a.m., and I wake up with my cat, Molly. Although she prefers to stay still in the mornings, she usually cuddles up by my head. When I wake up some mornings, my cat sits on my chest, glaring at me with her two green eyes, clearly annoyed that I have disturbed her sleep.😁

Usually, I don't arrive at my workplace, which is just forty steps away in my bedroom, until 9:30 am, and I stay there until 4:30–5 pm. During the second half of the day, I start by responding to emails and making social media posts. I try my best to avoid getting distracted by Pinterest until the end of the day.

After spending my mornings doing research, I write for the rest of the day, which I love.💖

In the evenings, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and painting—my newest hobby. I find solace in engaging in activities that allow me to unwind and tap into my creative side. These hobbies provide a much-needed escape from the stress that often accompanies my work.

Thank you for visiting!

My latest two books of a series of three, the final one to be published soon!

Life takes us on a journey from time to time, and sometimes we forget to stop and breathe. We tend to overlook ourselves and our desires. However, taking care of us is not a bad thing, especially in this ever-changing world of uncertainties, time, and age.

In September of 2022, I went on a holiday trip to my friend's house in North Carolina. She had looked after me when we were children and still takes care of me whenever I visit her. During my stay, I had the privilege of meeting and staying with another friend, who was a ninety-five-year-old treasure. She was full of energy and had a charming personality. I was amazed by her cute quirks, sparkling eyes, and a smile that could take anyone's breath away.

I loved the fact that she still painted her toenails, wore lipstick, and styled her clothes when we dined out. I was terrified when she whizzed around her property on a golf cart, but it was incredibly fun.

However, I was devastated when I received the news of her passing. It was heartbreaking since only four months ago, I was with her helping her tidy out her wardrobe. Now I had to send flowers to a funeral I couldn't attend.

As we age, we realize that life becomes more compact, and people become more important than material possessions. I was grateful for the chance to stay with my friend. It was as if she knew that we wouldn't see each other again.

Rest in peace, Mema

DAY OUT with my grandsons

The best bit about being a grandma is being able to spoil your grandchildren and then at the end of the day, give them back to their parents...only teasing...I love them to pieces.

Cjay is two and a half and Trystan is just under two and already they both have their own little personalities. I never thought that I would enjoy being a grandma so much, just hearing them call my name makes my heart melt.

I went out with my son and his son Cjay and my daughter's son Trystan to a place called Pili Palas. It had a soft play area inside, where there were butterflies, birds, snakes, and lots of creepy crawlies. Then outside there were some huge pigs, tiny goats, and an outside play area.

The two boys loved it and played so well together. Although Trystan is the smaller of the two he had no problem keeping up with his super-fast cousin Cjay.

Here are some pics of the day.

BIG BIRTHDAY...shush!!

I recently celebrated a big birthday and with the current covid restrictions we couldn’t celebrate as I wanted. I had this idea of going out to eat and having my whole family around me. However, there was no way in which that would be possible.

My son Chris couldn't come to see me on my birthday, so he visited the day before with my eldest grandson, who is the tender age of two and four months. Cjay always climbs up the stairs to my apartment shouting "Grandma, Grandma, and I wait for him at the top before sweeping him into my arms...

We went for lunch and Chris took me shopping at a very nice jewellery store. He bought me a bracelet that made my eyes water at the price. There were three charms that he chose himself, a typewriter, a heart with my birthstone, also a golden heart which is intricately weaved in a filigree design.

As it happened my birthday was on the day I look after one of my very beautiful grandsons. My daughter who is a teacher had already left for work, but the massive balloons with my age on (as if I needed reminding!!) met me at the door with Trystan, my youngest grandson at the tender age of 20 months.

"Grandma, grandma," he shouted with his arms out for me to lift him. My heart melts every time that happens.

My daughter and sister bought me a present that is something I've always wanted to do, a night away to go and watch The Nutcracker Suite ballet. I cannot wait until the day, March 5th arrives. I think a new dress is in order.

I also had a spa day and lots of other presents including a bracelet with my grandson's initials on precious!

I had a wonderful day and it was ended with a takeaway of halloumi wraps and fries...delicious.

My daughter gets married

Summer 2019

Emma and I as she got ready for the big day

Oh, what a summer it has been! The final preparations of my daughter's wedding to longtime boyfriend Justin finally happened. They have been together for twelve years and after two years of planning the moment was finally here.
A little background story on them.
They met in university and after that first introduction; they have been together ever since.
There was a moment that would try the best of partnerships and that was when Justin was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and when they had learned, it had spread to his stomach and lungs… the future was not looking good.
The intense chemotherapy put a massive strain on their relationship. But they were strong, and this year, I am happy to say that, Justin has been cancer-free for five years. I figure if they can get through that, then everything else is a breeze.

They bought their first house together in 2018. And in January of this year, we started looking for the perfect wedding dress and found it five months later. You’ll see that I use the word perfect many times because it was. The day couldn’t have gone better, everything was PERFECT.

The day and night went without a hitch.
